((Admin 69: Hi guys! Thanks for your patience. I’d like to present the first two shorts in the 10069 Kiss Anthology by Akiwo + 高瀬ちこり. I apologize for the streakiness of some of the pages. The new scanner I got has been kind of giving me trouble, but I couldn’t wait anymore. e_e;

I will be using this post as a masterpost for the scans as I continue to release them.

I also would like to say: please do not redistribute this.

This should remain the official post for this scan seeing as how many people (including Admin 100 and myself) put effort and time into making this happen specifically for our ask10069 blog. The same will always go for the other scans that I post in the future. Feel free to redirect people, of course!

Obviously, if anyone is interested in translating this, please just include credit to ask10069 here. : >

If you like what you see, please consider buying the direct source. These scans are for fans who may not have access to the same stuff the rest of us do. Hell, I even bought myself a copy of the scanlated and very popularly distrubuted “SEE-OFF.” Beautiful in person, let me just say. xD

I will be continuing to release the shorts as I find time. I hope to eventually scan the whole 200 or so pages of the anthology, probably skipping the short stories.

Mukuro stared at the letter for a long time.

When one stares at something for so long, one begins to pick up the small details. His world became microscopic.

It was then he saw it; every carefully written word which splotched the fine wick of paper fiber at every turn where Byakuran had been just a bit too hasty. In some places, he also saw the hesitation in every fine bleeding spot as if the deep purple ink were a spider extending all its limbs into a pearlescent web. He saw these details and wondered.

Could love be broken down into these simple elements? Was it an elaborate ruse…like the illusions he wove? If so, he was like poor Arachne, who boasted of her great skill as a weaver at great cost. But was he struck down by a jealous goddess or had he lost the contest?

In the end, it didn’t matter. Didn’t matter if he was the greatest liar because he had lost either way. The game had changed — it was no longer about who could weave lies with greater skill. He had lost the moment he questioned — the moment he had asked himself… Is this love?

How pathetic, struggling in the web… no longer able to discern truth from lie.

He breathed, physical need for air drawing him back into the macroscopic.

His fingers clenched, paper bowing under the stress of pressured fingertips. The words on the page distorted in turn. This had all been simply ridiculous. He read the words again — how silly they seemed now if he divorced himself from overanalyzing. Stupid, even.

Strange how he had been lulled into the trap of believing… that just for a moment, he questioned his own feelings. He couldn’t feel love for someone like this.

A scoff and a crumple later, the paper landed unceremoniously into the bottom of the waste basket.

Azure and ruby glared at the potted plant by the door. A blue orchid? Rare. Odd. Why a potted plant? Another one of Byakuran’s games, no doubt.

He contemplated leaving it there outside his room to die.

Instead, possessed by some inexplicable instinct, he bent down to pick it up.

I’m not sure if Admin 100 is interested in continuing any time soon. I’ve been rather busy with work, holiday related stressors and way too much romping around with friends…so I’m mostly at fault for the lack of replies, but… maybe later in January things will be less hectic. Mukuro-muse has also been hibernating a bit to allow me to develop other muses.

As for the second part of the question… Hmm… maybe I’ll have to come up with something there, eh? I’ve also been working on a bit of drawing. :>

On a side note, the scanner has come in. I just have to find the will to clean my room and set it up… >_>;))
